Devilishly decadent and dark. Smooth and seductive. Intense and indulgent.

The terms we use to describe chocolate make it seem a little, well, sinful. But in moderation, research shows chocolate is actually healthy to eat. Like green tea, it contains flavonoids, which may play a role in preventing illness. And any true chocoholic understands the psychological benefits of indulging in a bite of chocolate now and then.

What better time to celebrate this soul-satisfying ingredient than in February with 14 Days of Chocolate? Rather than settling for a box of commercially prepared chocolates, spend just a few minutes in the kitchen and show someone how much you care about them. And be sure to show off your creations to help others find their chocolate inspiration!

First up is our Dark Chocolate Cookies with Espresso Powder, a sophisticated fix for your chocolate cravings. Rich, dark chocolate is infused with a deep coffee flavor, creating a cookie meant for grown-up hands (and tummies) only. I made mine a little smaller than the original recipe calls for (I like petite cookies so I can eat more of them!) and knocked a few minutes off the cooking time to preserve the chewy texture.

No matter who you share these cookies with, be sure to offer them a glass of milk to help them savor their few minutes in chocolate bliss.
